Hi all in this post I'will show you how to create a simple login and user registration application using django.
To create this application I have used django 1.5.0 First open a terminal or console. So lets create a project called 'myapp' using the following command. [pre class="brush:jscript" title="Test code block"] function doSomething() { alert('Syntax Highlighter Fun'); } [/pre]
django-admin.py startproject myapp
Next we have to create an app in myapp project, lets say the name of the app is 'login'. So to do this first go to the myapp directory using 'cd myapp' then enter the following command.
django-admin.py startapp login
See the following picture. d11 And this will create your application. Next I have used a sqlite database for myapp. So now open the settings.py file (myapp > myapp > settings.py) modify the following lines to use a database. And the name of the database file is loginapp.sqlite.

d12 Now you need to sync the datadabe, to do this go to the terminal and enter the following command.And also create a superuser.

python manage.py syncdb
See the following picture. d13 Now you need to define the path of your template directory in the settings.py file. To do this add the following line into your TEMPLATE_DIRS directive.

Next you have to add your application name i.e. login into INSTALLED_APPS directive. To do this see the following code.

And also add following lines into your settings.py file. The utility of this two lines is if a user want to access a method that that requires login and the user is not logged in then it will redirect the user to login page.

Now create a file called forms.py inside login folder. And paste the folowing code into that file. This code is used to create the registration form.

Next open the views.py file and paste the following code into there.

Now create a folder called templates inside login folder. Next create a file called base.html inside templates folder and paste the following code in that file.

Aslo create a file called home.html inside templates folder and paste the following code in that file.

Next create a folder called registration inside templates folder. Create a file called login.html inside the registration folder and paste the following code in that file.

Next create a file called register.html inside the registration folder and paste the following code in that file.

Next create a file called success.html inside the registration folder and paste the following code in that file.

Finally you need to modify the urls.py file. So open that file and paste the following code in that file.

Now to run th app go to the terminal and enter the following commnad.
python manage.py runserver
And to view the application open a browser and go to the following url http://127.0.0.1:8000/
