Windows XP Startup Script

At times you may need to create a script that should run automatically whenever you start Windows XP.

Here is how you do it.

  1. Open the Group Policy Editor (Start > Run > enter 'gpedit.msc'.)
  2. Expand 'Computer Configuration'.
  3. Expand 'Windows Settings'.
  4. Select 'Scripts (Startup/Shutdown)'.
  5. Double-click on 'Startup' in right-hand pane.
  6. Click on the 'Add' button.
  7. Click on the 'Browse' button.
  8. Navigate to your batch file, select it and OK your way out of the Editor.
  9. Close the Editor.
